The workshop already knows who worked today.

Your mechanics are already in the system, assigned to bays and to cars, with the minutes recorded against each job. HR is what happens when that is joined up with their file, their leave and what they are paid — instead of living in a separate spreadsheet that disagrees with it.

The staff file

  • One record per person, joined to the mechanic on the job card
  • Contract, job title, start date and reporting line
  • Emergency contact and the details you actually need at 2am
  • Documents stored against the person, not in a drawer

Papers that expire

In Qatar this is the one that costs real money when it is missed.

  • QID, passport, visa, driving licence and trade certificates
  • Warned well before the date, not on the day
  • One screen showing everything expiring this quarter
  • A technician with a lapsed licence is flagged before allocation

Attendance and leave

  • Clock in and out from the phone already in their hand
  • Shifts and rosters against the bays you actually have
  • Overtime separated from ordinary hours
  • Leave requested, approved and deducted from a real balance
  • Absence visible to the person allocating tomorrow's work

Salaries and WPS

Built last and released last, deliberately — see the note below.

  • Basic, allowances and deductions per person
  • A monthly run you review before anything is final
  • A WPS file in the format the bank expects
  • End-of-service gratuity calculated from the start date
  • Payslips in Arabic and English
  • A finalised run is locked and kept, like a closed day

Why payroll comes last

Salary handling in Qatar is regulated: the Wage Protection System, end-of-service gratuity and leave entitlement are set in law, and a wrong file is a wrong payment to a real person. We are building the rest of HR first, putting it in real workshops, and adding payroll once the staff records underneath it have been right for months. You will be told plainly when it is ready and when it is still being tested — you should not find that out from your own payroll run.
