FahsLink on your phone

FahsLink runs in the browser on any phone, so you do not have to install anything. If you want an icon on your home screen like other apps, this page shows how to do it on Android and iPhone. It is the same product either way, with the same login, the same jobs and the same photos.

Android

A file you download from this page. There is no Play Store listing yet, and the reason is explained below.

  • It needs Android 7 or newer. The file is about 10 KB, so it downloads in a second, even on a weak connection.
  • Your phone will warn you about installing a file from outside the Play Store, and ask you to allow it once. This warning is normal for apps downloaded this way.
  • It never needs updating. The screens come from our servers, so a phone that installed it months ago still shows today's version.
  • The camera, photos and file uploads all work.

iPhone and iPad

Three taps, with no download and no account. Apple does not allow apps to be installed from a website, so this is how it works on iPhone.

  • Open fahslink.com in Safari. This step does not work in Chrome
  • Tap the Share button. It is the square with an arrow coming out of it
  • Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
  • The FahsLink icon appears on your home screen. It opens full screen with no browser bar, like a normal app.

Why there is no Play Store listing yet

On the Play Store there would be no warning screen when you install, and updates would arrive by themselves. Both are real advantages, and we expect to be listed there. But every change would also have to wait in Google's review queue, and Google is strict about apps that are mainly a website inside an app, which ours is. We do not want to claim a listing we do not have, so the file is here instead. We sign it ourselves, and it is the same software either way. If your company only lets staff install apps from the Play Store, tell us and we will move this work up our list.
